Navigation

R435,00

The complete SACAA PPL Navigation syllabus — taught to be passed the first time.

Navigation is the one written paper that asks you to actually do something under time pressure. A textbook can explain that. It cannot demonstrate it.

  • A video lesson and full written notes for every subtopic
  • Every calculation worked step by step — wind triangles, scale, QTEs, descent planning
  • Randomised topic quizzes and fresh mock exams on every attempt
  • Self-paced, on any device, no classroom bookings

Start at first principles. Finish able to plot a radio fix and calculate a top of descent.

PPL Navigation — South Africa Edition

The complete SACAA Navigation syllabus, taught properly — and taught to be passed.

Ask any group of student pilots which written subject worries them most, and Navigation comes up again and again. Not because it is conceptually difficult — but because it is the only paper that asks you to physically do something under time pressure. Set a navigation computer. Measure a track. Plot a bearing. Get a number right.

A textbook can explain those skills. It cannot show you how to perform them. That gap is exactly what this course was built to close.

Why Students Lose Marks in Navigation

In our experience, failed Navigation papers rarely come down to a student who did not study. They come down to three things:

  • The navigation computer was never truly mastered. The student can describe what it does, but in the exam they are still working out which way to rotate the scale — and the clock is running.
  • A foundation was skipped early. Navigation is cumulative. Variation learnt loosely in Aircraft Magnetism quietly wrecks every radio bearing calculation three chapters later.
  • Small errors, not big misunderstandings. A variation applied the wrong way. A time left in hours instead of minutes. A distance read off the wrong scale. The method was right; the mark was lost anyway.

Every one of those is preventable — but only with a course that makes you practise rather than read.

What Makes This Course Different

Every Calculation, Demonstrated

Not described — demonstrated. Every wind triangle, every scale problem, every QTE conversion and every descent calculation is worked through step by step, with the reasoning shown in full, so you learn the method instead of memorising an answer.

Built in the Right Order

The syllabus is sequenced deliberately, from defining position on the Earth all the way through to fixing your position from two radio bearings. Each subtopic assumes the one before it — and the quizzes confirm you have it before you move on.

Nothing Left Out

Each subtopic carries a video lesson and complete written notes covering that part of the syllabus in full. You are never sent off to find a textbook to fill a gap — the gap is not there.

What You Get

Learn It

  • A video lesson for every subtopic in the SACAA Navigation syllabus
  • Full written lesson notes for each subtopic, covering the complete syllabus
  • Step-by-step worked examples for every calculation type in the course
  • Covers the Earth, charts, magnetism, the navigation computer, practical navigation, radio aids and radio navigation

Prove It

  • Topic quizzes after every lesson, randomised on each attempt so you cannot pass by memory
  • Master mock exams that pull a fresh, randomised question set every single time
  • A detailed explanation for every answer, so a wrong answer becomes a lesson rather than a mystery
  • Q&A access if something still will not click

Who This Is For

  • Student pilots working towards the SACAA PPL Navigation examination.
  • Pilots re-sitting the paper who know roughly where it went wrong and want it taught properly this time.
  • Students who find the navigation computer intimidating — this is the course that fixes that specifically.
  • Anyone studying around a job who needs to work at their own pace, in their own time, without booking classroom hours.
  • Licenced pilots returning to flying who want to sharpen skills that have gone rusty.

No prior navigation knowledge is assumed. The course begins at first principles — what the Earth looks like and how we describe position on it — and takes you through to plotting radio fixes and calculating a top of descent.

Pass it the first time.

A failed Navigation paper costs you a re-sit fee, weeks of delay, and the momentum you had built towards your licence. This course costs a fraction of that — and is designed so you only sit the exam once.
